Ideally, something more than that. My mission, for example, has 2 klingon houses fighting each other and is a Klingon only mission. So it needs Klingon on Klingon on player violence. So I'd really like somewhat greater control.

And, of course, the ability to change aggro on the fly, so we can set up situations like Rescue Deferi Captives daily, where something goes from neutral/friendly to hostile.

TOS Klingons will show up on the enemy filter for Klingon side missions, but are not hostile to Klingon players and, I'd imagine, NPCs on the Klingon faction. Though this is most likely a bug with where they show up filter-wise.
Interesting. If I have a little spare time, perhaps I'll compile a list of which groups are friendl and unfriendly, if nothing else then for my own amusement. I also wonder if things are the same on the ground as in space.

It is relatively easy if you just want to find out who is friendly to the player. But I think the allegiance match what is already in game:

  • Borg
  • Breen
  • Cardassian & Dominion
  • Federation
  • Klingon, Orion, Nausicaan, Gorn
  • MirrorFederation
  • Romulan, Reman & Hirogen are one block.
The only thing I am not 100 % sure is if Cardies and Dominion are seperate or not.

It kinda makes sense to have the default setups like this, but... It's not satisfying that you can't customize it well. Changing costumes is insufficient, unless you can live with fighting Klingon Neg'Vars behaving like Romulan Warbirds or shooting phasers.

But the NPC groups arent going along with that. I had one group of Klinks mixed with a group of Orions and they started shooting each other, and they were "Blue" to me (as a fed), now as they killed members they would become red and allow me to attack.

Some kind of Friendly/Enemy tag needs to be in there in some capacity for all groups, which would allow better story telling.

I would love to be able to do a me vs Section 39 but I dont want to have to skin every NPC actor to do it.

Yes we Desperately need multiple factions possible... I could use maybe a red, blue & a neutral that was able to be changed in the mission... as ships change factions for many reasons and we need the variety. It's getting old going down to individual actors for everything & it's very time consuming. I'm getting the hang of it now...

How about a custom palette we can load up with common items for each project... it's such a drag to constantly scroll through or type into a search when I could Pre-Load my palette with the common items I need...

In old Star Trek Armada we had eight factions possible with various alliance settings... it was very easy to get any combination you wanted that way... It would be Foolish to Not have a setup like this for adding other factions down the road.

Thus I find the Lack of any such kind of option to be immature and short-sighted... which could be a good description of the Previous Dev management style. What happened to ALL vs. ALL Bloodsport..? That's why PVP is boring... it can only be red or blue or nothing... that is totally lame and un-acceptable for any long-term development. Just think how much more fun it would be.

Many Trek Stories have used changing alliances to move the plot from A-B and we need the same.
