Does anyone have any theories as to why the server disconects whenever I try to put people at the y-200000 co-ordinate?

My theory? Well, if I were to go out on a limb, I'd say it's because you're not supposed to put people at the y coordinate -20000. But that's just a guess.

Why would you want to put people at the -200000 y coordinate? If you want to hide them, why not just go -10 y?

Still...

the y 200,000 coordinate, on a ground map, even on a ship map, would be in space. People can't survive in space unprotected...

Or, are you trying to make a Q-like character?

More or less something where all of a sudden, you're walking along, and a bunch of people fall out of the sky and die on impact with the ground.

Then, try for a lower y coordinate. Like, maybe y +500. I know a lower y coordinate, something within the atmosphere of the planetary body is possible. I've done it. I actually put my captain's spawn point a few km up, and upon spawn, the captain fell to the ground. My away team spawned on the ground, and the impact from my fall killed my entire away team.

Although, I have heard that there is currently a bug, where there is a problem placing NPC's at anything other than y=0.

I've had no troubles with y co-ordinates on NPC's... but that was in the editor... haven't published latest to check... of course I'm going with y +6 or so... not 2000000.
