Yeah, congrats, Cryptic team!

(On a side note, I wish they had used the same colors for the games throughout their graphs. I know it's a bit nit-picky, but I just found it weird that a game would be using the color purple in the first graph, then yellow in the next, etc. )

I'll be "that guy" and point out the competition wasn't exactly Top of the Pops. I'll admit the game isn't completely abysmal but it won't make any Best X of the Decade lists in its current form.

STO needs more spit and polish so it can go against better contenders like lotro, ddo, runes of magic (lol) and such.

/me dons a bathrobe and cues the bikini-clad women and giggles and runs around...then stops and does a brief can-can...then gets back to giggling and running around.

I would feel much better about it if I actually believed it was deserved. STO went up against a pretty sad bunch of games this year and came out on top. Think about what that really means before putting up that Best of 2010 logo on the game for marketing reasons. You got a couple of positive votes from me but I think that overall, mmorpg.com's contest was far more accurate with the winner for best new game being "none of the above".

Improvements have been huge, there has been a lot of work done to make STO better but it really doesn't have enough to make it best of 2010, more like the lesser of evils perhaps.

Also I would like to point out a few of these are free to play, and F2P has never been a top contender for awesomeness of any sort... and APB? Really? The game that tanked soon after it was released? It was a bigger flop than Vanguard. What the heck is Love anyway? O.o

I am surprised however that it won over FFXIV...

Im not trying to pee in your cheerios and call it milk, honestly... but I think the award would mean more if you were pitted against say, Guild Wars 2 and Rifts and Star Wars TOR... even if you came in last against three others not named, it would say something.

As it is, you just beat up a bunch of disabled kids. lol
