DS9 moved away from classic Trek in a lot more than this.

Starfleet suddenly jumping from 50 to 5.000 ships, Federation suicide attacks, fighter combat, NCOs, ...

Maybe it was because half the show was a blatant rip-off from B5 (mind you that I still love DS9 and that it had a lot of good story arcs, but it is fairly obvious), or maybe it was just because they figured that the current audience needs more action and explosions, but the difference to the previous series' is pretty glaring. Pretty sure DS9 would not exist in this way would Roddenberry have still been alive at that point - his death basically opened the door for the studio to take the franchise into a whole new direction. In a way it's similar to STO though, which is of course only logical as the game merely continues a path that has been well prepared by the franchise. And most people seem to like it that way, so ... I guess that's evolution, too.

I just want Drake to recognize me. I'm ready to toss him in the warp core; he should be able to recognize that instead of acting like we never met before. That's all.

Every time he shows up in a mission I want to kill him more... I'm not a fan of stupid people and I definitely don't care for arrogant ones but he manages to have both in excess!

Kudos to the Dev team though in having a character with personality even if that personality makes you want shove him out an airlock.

There needs to be a keyword search in the foundry for "Kill Franklin Drake" because I'd play everyone of those missions

Personally, I don't wanna kill Franklin Drake.
and here's why.....

I'll agree that he makes me angry every time I see him, and I want to shoot him before he can even speak.

But....isn't that kinda how Picard felt every time he saw Q?

Cheers to the devs for making Drake the kind of character that I LOVE TO HATE.....
