Hello everyone, I have decided to give STO one more chance after having two max level chars and waiting for 4 months. Here is my impression. I have started a completely new character and tried to treat the game as if it was my first playthrough.

1) There has not been any change. Most given missons are basically go somewhere and kill everything that moves. And if it still moves, kill it again. Sorry, this is not Star Trek. So I was really happy to get some anomalies scanning. However after scanning the last one my idiotic officer bumped in saying Captain, captain, I need your decision. The fate of the universe depends on it. O.K. What is it? Well sir, do you want to leave the system? What? I just lost the scanning because you moron have to ask this? Seriously, come on Cryptic. Is it SO DAMN HARD to fix this?????

2) Got some injuries and had to go back to Earth dock. And I have to click on EVERY single one, and then CONFIRM the healing? Now you are seriously starting to **** me off. What the hell is so hard on adding a single button to heal all????

3) Decided to give it one more chance, I opened my skill tree to adjust points while traveling through better looking, yet still incerideblly boring sector space. And right after selecting the skill I was dragged in by enemy signal contact. Now you finally ****ed me off. Why the hell is this stupidity still there? Why the hell I am dragged in? Just to spend time loading the encounter and then clicking on warp away? You really must be kidding me.

I am sorry, I really wanted to enjoy this game. I wanted to give it a chance. But when you make a game, that can annoy players in 10 minutes, something is wrong. And when I see that instead of fixing bugs and making the game more user friendly you fill your C-Store with more and more crap (NX class? Oh come on! Who would divert resources from building real ships in the middle of a war? Imagine U.S. Navy building ships of the line in the middle of WW2. Or more crappy uniforms. Do you even know what a UNI form means? It means everyone wears more or less the same. Again, maybe U.S. soldiers should start to wear British 18th century redcoats. Must be fun, right?) I simply can not continue to support such a company with my money.

A heal all would be nice, looking through all my boffs can be annoying. The pop-up on the scan is easy to deal with - just click the scan window, it does need to be fixed though.

People want different uniforms so they make them for us. No need to imagine... in the course of WW2 the US Navy made 22 aircraft carriers, converted 141 merchant vessels into escort carriers, made 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 convoy escorts, 203 subs, and there was 34 million tons of merchant ships built. So maybe the imaginary starfleet can make a new ship or two.

Thanks, but the problem is these things are still there. Nearly a year after launch and nothing has changed. How can I have faith in Cryptic, when they are unable to fix even the most simple things :-(

While there are many things in STO that still need improvement, I would hardly say that nothing has changed since launch. Crafting just got a big facelift, the new Aegis and Borg equipment sets are neat (imo), the Weekly Episode series (which begins anew in two short weeks! so excited!), with more changes on the way (Foundry, new ground combat system, etc.).

I understand your frustration with immersion, and I certainly wish we had more missions that were TNG-esque "we've got this problem, let's figure it out" style. But to be fair, it is a video game. Most video games (especially MMORPGs) are about blowing stuff up.

That said, if you aren't enjoying yourself, then by all means take a break and do something else. STO and its community will be here to welcome you back whenever you wish...

Also, it wouldn't be a thread about leaving the game if someone didn't ask "Can I have your stuff?"
So (not really ) can I have your stuff?...

lol i have the same problem a lot. its really an easy fix.. just give the player the ability to control when red alert is on or off. if i get blasted by a bad guy because my shields and weapons are down, then that is my fault. that is part of tactics and control style that should be given to the player anyways.. i do agree tho that red alert should automatically set (arming weapons and shields) upon the first incoming impact. that has always been a trek starship feature.

The DSE's are already scheduled to go away. They are being worked on right now, and will be gone with the Season 4 switchover.
