Is there a good guide to key binding?

Actions I would like to bind are:

Ground:
- All to my target
- Group to location
- BO to location
- Swap Weapons (I am sure there is one, but I cannot find it)

Space:
- The Different Ship power settings
- Specific Speed settings. I would like to drop to 25% with a single key
- Fixed turn amount, Specifically 90 and 180 degrees

Miscellaneous
- Tie team text to a key and action
- Inspect and Auto loot
- Toggle various display setting. Generally I want only the targeted health bar, sometimes I want all enemies.

Inspect / loot can be accomplished by spamming "F".

There is a binding guide out there, not sure where at the moment. Try doing a search. There's also a list somewhere of all the different /commands. Most of what you want can be accomplished, I think.

Basic Key Bind guide and Command List is the guide from beta.

Since the original author appears to be MIA, and the mentioned thread is archived, I'm in the process of creating an updated version that should be posted today.

To your more specific requests... answers in green.

Still haven't figure out command for this one.

- BO to location :
same as above

- Swap Weapons :
Already in the default UI under ground switch weapons. Or can use the following /bind <key> /GenSendMessage Inventory_Root SwitchActiveWeapon

Space:
- The Different Ship power settings :
/bind <key> genbuttonclick powerlevel_preset_0
/bind <key> genbuttonclick powerlevel_preset_1
/bind <key> genbuttonclick powerlevel_preset_2
/bind <key> genbuttonclick powerlevel_preset_3

- Specific Speed settings. I would like to drop to 25% with a single key :
The specific command for throttle is /ThrottleAdjust. Your Q and E keys are bound by default to /ThrottleAdjust -.25 and /ThrottleAdjust .25 respectively. You can approach this two ways...

/bind <key> "ThrottleAdjust -1 $$ ThrottleAdjust .25"
or
/bind <key> "ThrottleAdjust +1 $$ ThrottleAdjust -.75"

One takes you to zero throttle and bumps up to 25%. The other takes you to full throttle and bumps you down to 25%.

- Fixed turn amount, Specifically 90 and 180 degrees :
Turn increments are not an available option.

Miscellaneous
- Tie team text to a key and action :
Are you looking for something similar to...

/bind <key> "petCommands_SetAllToOwnerAttackTarget $$ say Attack my target"

- Inspect and Auto loot :
Unfortunately, the default /InteractWindow (default bind to F) is the only option available.

- Toggle various display setting. Generally I want only the targeted health bar, sometimes I want all enemies. :
Will need to dig through the UI commands to see if there is a setting for this. If there is, then you can use the bind_load_file command to create toggles.

might try " Looking for Star Trek Onine info? - Academy Information Index" by Tatanka

It has the link to "Basic Key Bind guide and Command List" by Wild Cat

but there is also "[Command List] All /commands for STO" by KoldFusion

but in my ground.txt file (just a name i used with /bind_save_file and /bind_load_file) i have the line

` "petCommands_SetAllToOwnerAttackTarget"

which will bind the ` or ~ key to make my BOffs attack my target.

a friend was using his joystick throttle to adjust speeds by setting it to zones and had some keybinds like the following.

F5+control "throttleset -1"
F6+control "throttleset 0"
F7+control "throttleset 0.25"
F8+control "throttleset 0.5"
F9+control "throttleset 0.75"
F10+control "throttleset 1"

in his /bind file.

I have come across a wicked keybind set to connect an entire tray row to one keypress. handy-dandy for smashing together a queue of six or seven tactical bo skills for that ever precious alpha strike!

The only trouble is, I have come across a strange phenomenon when trying to use it on my Brel retrofit as well. As you will see I made two lines. one binding tray row 10 (listed as 9 because they start at zero) to the 'c' key- which works flawlessly. And then another one for tray row 9 (listed as 8) bound to the 'x', which is exactly the same in every way exept for the reference numbers. Yet when I make the bind every time I use it, it toggles my cloak on or off. And same if I use the code for tray rows 9 or 8, (8, 7) on the 'z' key or 'd' key (the only others i tried) i don't know if this is some weird glitch or if it interfears with a nonexistant toggle bind (the keybind options menu has nothing for cloaks) it would be handy to know.

Here's the code, in case there is something I missed:

/bind c "+TrayExecByTray 9 0$$+TrayExecByTray 9 1$$+TrayExecByTray 9 2$$+TrayExecByTray 9 3$$+TrayExecByTray 9 4$$+TrayExecByTray 9 5$$+TrayExecByTray 9 6$$+TrayExecByTray 9 7$$+TrayExecByTray 9 8"

/bind x "+TrayExecByTray 8 0$$+TrayExecByTray 8 1$$+TrayExecByTray 8 2$$+TrayExecByTray 8 3$$+TrayExecByTray 8 4$$+TrayExecByTray 8 5$$+TrayExecByTray 8 6$$+TrayExecByTray 8 7$$+TrayExecByTray 8 8"

And of course there's TranceAddict's awsome Keybinding For Dummies guide just a few threads below this one in this same section.
