# 1 Bridges & Turbolifts
02-14-2011, 12:46 PM
Hey everyone.

I tried searching the forum for any help on this one. Im wondering if the bridges we can choose between in the foundry have working turbolifts (meaning the doors will actually open when you try to approach them). Because Ive tried switching between a few but none of them seems to work. I am working on my storyline and I need the player to start in the turbolift connected to the bridge so it appears as if they just came from another deck.

Any suggestions would be appriciated!

As far as I know, no bridges right now have that. You either have to change your idea or you can try and build your own bridge from scratch, using walls and consoles and the such. There are walls I believe that have working doors and in act there is a turolift piece that would work nicely. I t would be a lot of work but you would get a completly unique bridge.

Or you can wait till the next build for the foundry and hope they added that.

You can just take those aforementioned working doors and place them on one of the existing Bridge sets, in roughly the same position as the real door, but slightly further out. This will make it open when the player approaches it and unless they stand around examining it, it looks pretty good. I've found this works really well on those Alliance/etc. bridges, because they have long hallways leading up to the turbolift, so moving it forward a few units isn't going to be terribly noticeable.

Ooooh,, thanks for the tip!
Hope Cryptic will fix this for this update they are releasing now.

I have used the wall pieces you suggested to create a custom interior. Ive tried to find the wall pieces that we have for the ship interiors in game but so far I havent seen them anywhere which sort of makes it more difficult to be creative and create an interesting story on a ship. :/
