I'm kind of iffy when it comes to consoles to upgrade ships. Because some people would easily give up a console slot if it means a new tactic. Like right now with the Borg Console, Cruiser and Escort captains give up their Science slot for that little bit of firepower.

Really hope the Dev Team thinks of another mechanic, like simply going through a "Refit" process and unlock your ship's upgrades.

I know people want to upgrade their Tier 1 and 2 ships all the way to Tier 5, but I really think there should be a refit limit with the early tier ships. Because a Miranda or Consitution isn't easily going to be able to handle modern starships 1 on 1, even if they were kept modernized.

So this is something to really deliberate on.

Agreed.

I thought it would've been cool that for every ship destroyed, a certain number of salvage points would be rewarded and they could be used to buy addons to ships and there would be limits.

People won't go for it, because it is another "currency"

True, it would be an interesting system to bring more ship variations into the game, but it wouldn't satisfy the people who want new T5 refits like the Rhode Island Nova or the Akira. Or the Constitution.

No problem, I know how frustrating it can be to sit on ESD and ask for help to found one while being called a spammer. I managed to found mine two days ago with bribes.

*g* I was always a fan of All Good Things, but there's no way to buy the uniform. not even blueprints. I didn't like the movie uniform and it would have been way too expensive in any half-way decent quality, so I settled for TNG with the All Good Things communicator. Should anybody ever get the idea to tell me that my outfit is non-canon I will just claim to be from a parallel universe.

Salvage points could be the same as EC, that would even give us a decent credit sink.

I loved the TNG series uniform , but I always thought AGT had the awesomist combadge. I'm not a big fan of the AGT uniforms. Though I like em better than most of the standard uniforms in game.

Actually, It'd be better if ec could be used to purchase "salvage" that would then grant random points based on how much was bought, how expensive it was, etc.

IE. I spend 5000 ec on a salvaged scout ship and earn 10 salvage points

I liked it how the AGT uniforms combined features from the TOS, TWOK and TNG. I didn't like that it took the first season jump suits from that, but that's something that's easily fixed in STO.

Hm, could be interesting with salvage merchants. And of course such a system could mean that we don't blow up every ship we come across... Gnah, now I got a crazy idea stuck in my head that Klingons get instead of a diplomacy system missions where they bring captured enemies to Rura Penthe and are rewarded for that.

I like the salvage merchant idea. I'd love some junkyard maps I like your Klingon idea instead of diplomacy.
