According to the Release Notes for the upcoming patch, the Galaxy X will finally get its 4th rear weapon slot and a damage increase to the Spinal Phaser Lance.
So i just wanted to thank Cryptic for answering to my prayers! I have been flying the Galaxy X, since it was available, because i really love the look and feel of that ship! (There is nothing better like maneuvering cloaked behind a Klingon, that is attacking an ally, powering up all weapons, decloaking, firing all cannons with rapid fire and let the Klingon feel the Phaser Lance once his shields are dropping, during you are healing your ally!)
But too often this alpha strike was unsuccessful, because of the low damage applied by the Phaser Lance. And way way too often my Galaxy X was outmaneuvered by an escort, that felt way too safe in my back, because of the missing 4th rear weapon slot and the bad turn rate.
I really hope, these times are over now and thank for that in anticipation!
Agreed, when word came that the changes went live to Tribble, I immediately re-copied my Engineer over there to test it out.
I ran B'Tran, did some other dailies, and PvP'd a little, then , I realized it was late, went to bed, and dreamed about the Galaxy Dreadnought finally measuring up..
I agree with these sentiments. Loved the ship but was quickly disappointed. Now I've gone back to it from the saucer separating galaxy. The Dreadnought needed to dominate better, now it does a better job.
