how do we get NPC ships to do things.
so for example if i want a group of Fed ships to move in and attack Klingon ships how do i do this??

You would just use a group of friendly NPC ships. The same way you would place an enemy faction on a map, you would just place a group of friendlies. They have to be within 10km of the enemy ship in order for them to attack.

what i meant was how would you get that group of NPC friendly to move like they do in some of the early missions cryptic made to move to within 10km to fight the enemy??

The only way they move is when you activate wander mode, but they go in random directions. We don't have the ability to program directions where we want things to go.
