Another Nerf this or that thread?

Well, I'd rather see more hull power and less maneuverability. What for is the latter useful when your ships keeps exploding after a few hits?
Turn Rate is to avoid getting hit by the really nasty stuff by evading the enemy.

The extra turn rate is for me one of the main arguments to consider the MVAM AE..

The BoP loses a lot for it's versatility, MVAM loses hardly anything at all. I think a 5 sci team in MVAM would be a sight to behold. 5 Ships become 30 on the opening, and those pets are spreading beta (with FAW no less) delta, BTWS (Even a slight drop in weapons power can hugely effect DPS) and BTES around. Yikes.

The Lt. Com sci is just a slap in the face to BoP pilots since the default MVAM boff config is very close to what a lot of us run, but the MVAM gets higher hull and shields, another weapons slot, another tac slot, another ensign boff, as well as pets and amazing maneuverability when in MVAM mode.

Easily the best Escort in the game IMHO, and it's sad to see that one faction is continually getting all the best toys. Feds now have the obviously best escorts, cruisers, and of course sci ships. The only ships Klingon's have left that do not have comparatively better peers Fed side are the recently nerfed Carriers, and I'm thinking that's only because the Feds don't have carriers :p
My thoughts EXACTLY.

Well, you can use the MVAC in either the AE or the MVAE. I would prefer the Lt.Cmdr Tac because of APO. I was also thinking of putting my sci in it, so I will have to let y'all know in OPvP.

The Sci version is really deadly because it can spec in high level tac skills and ignore AP except Omega. Sci in one with Innate Delta, beta and still get a tac to train Omega plus HYT3 or BOv3

So I see it something like this:

Sci: HE, TB, TSS3
Tac: HYT1, CSV1, CRF2, AP:O
Tac: TT1, HYT2
Tac: TT1
Eng: EMPtS, Aux to Sif

Throw in the Sci capt innates and MVAM innates this escort gets very sciency and very offensive.

On a side note tomorrow I hope the devs pop into ESD they need to make the reverse penalty higher, I have been seeing the return of the turreting escorts/BoPs

You can use the normal AE if you're clueless. PSW will give you more offensive power than anything you could put in a 2nd ltc tac slot, and gives you much more versatility in terms of tanking/healing/cc if you want to put something else there. There is absolutely no good reason to take the regular AE over the MVAMAE. Or any other escort for that matter... unless you really like cloak.

Not saying that Ltc sci slot > Ltc tac slot. Just that when you already have one Ltc tac (from the cmdr tac), it's always better to have your other ltc boff slot be something else, especially if that something else is sci.

I said this when the ship was in tribble, but the craw that said "you are a cry boy, you bla bla bla.. i want a god ship" kick mi ass, like always..
Now its too late, maybe next time you should go to test the ship on tribble.. this is not the first time it happened, Intrepid, Defiant, Excelsior and now this ship.. in all those times i get call "cry baby" because i ask for balance..
Its late now, sorry to said, the ship its out and they are not going to "nerf" a C Store ship (look at the Excelsior example)..

I had to respond to this one..

I'm using the original AE not because I'm clueless, but because I prefer the less magic and more natural pvp aspect of the ship. If you need something that will cause your target to be a sitting duck so you can kill it easily to pvp, perhaps your the one that's clueless and needs to learn how to fight something that can fight back. Maybe those that choose the AE over the MVAMAE prefer a challenge. I already can see the numerous weak players like you suggest using the stun method or the powerful healing capabilities of a science lt cmdr slot, it's obvious that we are sliding the difficulty slider to easy mode again with an escort that has more heal capabilities for itself and maybe for others.

As the majority already knows, most BOPs have 1 row of tactical used and the rest covered with healing and science magic skills, such as stuns.., and even though this ship doesn' t have universal slots, it's already got half way to the set up that most klingon players would have, only thing not worth it would be the lt tactical slot, which most would prefer engineer or more science. I figured this out in seconds getting into the MVAMAE, and after realizing how easy pvp would be in this ship, I went to the original AE. Not slamming anyone for using the new ship, but at the same time let's not call players using the original one clueless, perhaps they are using it for the challenge.

I suppose it is settled then. There are no overpowered ships in this game and there never will be, because you can always fly a lower tier ship and have an increased challenge.

Wait a second...

What does the fact that you can fly a less powerful ship have to do with another ship being too powerful or not?

Godfather,
I have to agree w/ you it all really comes down to personal taste i personally like the MVAM but im not gonna
make fun of someone who doesn't want to use it... it just might not be their particular cup of tea
