Even territory control would help, as long as the side hold that certain territory gets something for it

Perhaps, if you hold a certain area long enough that has a starbase you get to create different items, or lower lower current crafting cost by a % or minus a trace or two.

Or it creates and added EC bonus daily, Whatever the case may be PVP needs an overhaul very very soon.

and for PVP'ers that sit there and do nothing just to gain emblems and such , well how about they must have at least one kill, or be in the top three to get a better reward.

I definitely think increasing PVP rewards is necessary. PVP is totally dead at lower levels and a big skill point boost would help tremendously to get the queues going at lower levels. This would have a side benefit of getting people doing PVP at lower levels and learning the ropes in a much more forgiving environment, which would mean more high level PVPers because they aren't getting blasted out of the sky so fast having learned to play at lower levels.

Will there be lazy people who /afk in PVP? Absolutely. I'm not sure how to rectify that, but its not like its only a problem in PVP, it happens in PVE too. Fleet actions, DSEs, people AFK their way to skill points or emblems or whatever. But I think its a problem that can be ignored, generally. I'd rather people /afk in PVP matches than have no matches at all.

One crazy thought: WHat about giving Emblem rewards at lower tiers?

Maybe it wouldn't work because its ultimately worthless to a player until he becomes a VA... The casual player that plays for a year and still is only a Captain might not care much and be confused instead...
