While looking at cloak (which is a big issue all on its own), could you also look at the ship coming to a halt with half of the dialog boxes?

Any time some ensign gets an idea, he brings the ship to a complete halt in order to discuss it. This is most distressing in combat, where an Escort's primary defense comes from speed and movement. You are a sitting duck until you either skip the dialog entirely, or just click through and hope to read it later.

This also goes for Sector Space where as soon as you hail some one, the ship comes to a complete stop. Sector space travel is one of the best times to do some mission maintenance, picking up new ones or turning in old ones. Unfortunately you do not get very far while doing this.

The cloaking issue is honestly something that prevents me from logging on to my KDF character. I had assumed the fix would be easier or was already incoming. I am just glad to see that it will be looked at.

Turn on "Keep moving during dialogs" in the options menu. I think that will prevent most (all) of the problems from this.

There is a setting under one of the option menus to turn that behavior off.

What Husanak said. It is far too risky for very very little gain in healing. Infact, it will get one less heal as it cannot use extend shields, otherwise it will point out exactly where they are.

Compare it to the Star Cruiser/Orion Marauder healer:

BREL COMM.............................................. ....SC COMM Eng

Aux to SIF III .................................................A ux to SIF III
Engineering Team III ....................................Engineering III
Engineering Team II .....................................Extend Shields I
Ept Engines I................................................. EPT Shields I

LTC .................................................. ..........LTC Eng

Transfer Shields III ....................................Engineering Team III
Hazards II................................................ ...RSP I
Science I................................................. ..EPT Shields I

LT................................................ ...............LT Sci

Transfer Shields II...................................Transfer Shields II
Hazards I................................................. .Hazards I

LT................................................ ...............LT Tact

Attack Pattern Delta I...............................Attack Pattern Delta I
Torp HY I................................................. FAW I (Mine clearing)

.................................................. ..............Ensign Sci

.................................................. ..............Hazards I

Essentially the differences are:

-Two ET IIIs for SC, 1 in Brel
-Brel gets Hazards II instead of I
-Brel gets an extra Transfer Shields III
-SC gets extend shields I
-SC can do damage and clear mines with FAW
-Brel gets a sci team...but it shares Engineering team cooldown....
-SC has higher Aux power for all sci skills and Aux to SIF

Simply put, the Brel wouldnt be worth it as a healer, as it is a 27k hull ship that can easily be found (many times without even knowing it), and then blown up with a single beam overload or torpedo. If it is found, it must run unlike a SC leaving the team with no heals.

We would not use the Brel, even if it had these healing capabilities, for our main team. What it would do is give an alternate hit and run play style that could be used for fun, where you have something like three heghtas for damage and two brels cloaked healing. Could be a fun theme.

But for competitive play? Itd get blown out of the water.

What's the actual request here? That a BoP should be able to heal itself while cloaked, or should be able to heal others while cloaked?

I dont really have a request as it wont affect our team either way. But yes, it should be changed to how it originally was where heals (in or out) did not decloak the Brel.

Healing others while cloaked, or getting healed by others while cloaked, makes no logical sense, and would be stupidly broken. Healing yourself while cloaked, if they can make it happen, seems like a legit request. It sounds though like they would have to rework some underlying mechanics to deal with this "things done to you" or "things you do to others" vs. "things done to yourself" distinction to make that happen. Until they can do that, not being able to heal yourself while cloaked is the down side. It just means you need to run a little farther to heal up.

Its not broken at all. That kind of thinking (the "I wont actually think about it but ill claim its op") is what lead to its uselessness in the first place. Healing requires you to be close, if youre close you can easily be detected. Again, as Husanak said, no one would use it in fleet matches because its outputting no damage & can easily be detected and destroyed....all for very little benefit in the healing department over the Orion Cruiser (if any, considering less aux, lower ET, No extend shields, no shooting mines....overall less specialization).

EDIT: Aside from the above post in here, here are the points as to why it should not have been changed:

You seem to have an unusually keen interest in having it, considering how "useless" it would be. And if it's so pointless, then you won't miss not having it. Invisible healbot BoPs are not in the set of things that would make PvP "better," and nobody needs to think about that idea for long to realize that it is true.

Thanks for bringing absolutely no facts to the argument. Like I said, I do not care at all, aside from being able to run a secondary "fun" setup with the BRel, as the Orion Cruiser our team uses vastly outperforms the cloaked healer. Again, top tier PVP, the BRel still wouldnt be good enough in this state.
