On a more serious note, I have found that any build that I'm running BO3 with needs to have Tractor Beam to maximize its effectiveness.

Interestingly, since getting to see 'behind the mechanics' in one of the recent episodes of STOked, the value of Accuracy has increased significantly, at least in most of my calculations, and the Accurate Trait for Captains, even more so.

Which episode?

I kinda hate podcasts and stuff. I never know when to watch them. But maybe I should start anyway.

I know mate!!

As is mentioned by Ridcully, BO3 may be at its best at the moment - when used in tandem with a root or stun, so if you're dead set on BO3, make plenty of 'Sciency' pals.

Besides BO3 - are High Yield Torpedoes really an equally valid alternative? Or just 4 DHCs + 3 Turrets CRFing?

Missing sucks, but when you hit, you hit hard. At some point, it doesn't matter if your approach fails, as long as failure doesn't mean your death (and it shouldn't have to) - you just try again until it works.

I've been considering going with the 4DHC option. I have seen enough HYT miss to be reticent about using them.

A couple matches last night however, have re-invigorated my love for BO3. When it does hit, boy, them other escorts went bye bye...

I just want it to be as reliable as it was pre-aegis

Well, when they actually speak with CaptGeko, he touches on some of the interactions (I'll have to look for which episode it is, I forget off-hand... It's one of the most recent ones), the key, however, is that they produced Excel/PDF spreadsheets that they deliver as a free download in the episode notes on the site... The 2 incredibly good ones that they have done so far, the Damage Resistance table (EPIC WIN), and this new Accuracy vs. Defense (And What Accuracy REALLY Does For You). Just check the episode notes to find the download links for those files. (I know that the Damage Resistance ones was attached to one of the Cloaked Intentions podcasts, where they talked about missions in that series, again, I forget off-hand.)

I highly recommend them to all of the number crunchers! (Prepare for Nerd-vana! )
