Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
So, I've been making some tweaks to a foundry mission by inserting incidental dialogue for side-characters. One thing that's starting to be a problem is how the game won't let me use the word "damn" in speech.
What gives? It's not a profanity, it's used in the shows consistently and I have a hard time believing even the most obsessive censor would object to it.
Hot outside. But have a damn fine maguerita in front of me.
I'd say damn is not a profanity, but its for Cryptic to decide on their word filters.
I hope that is not the reason my mission takes eternity to be published. I used the German version: "Verdammt" in it.
its technically a curse/profanity albeit it a very light one. so cryptic are just playing by the rules. they may have no choice but to sensor it legally or they may just be covering all the bases on the off chance someone, somewhere complains and they dont want the hassle.
Seeing as it doesn't even get censored in the forums I think there's something damn wrong about it not being available in the game.
I guess you can write dam instead, but that's kind of silly. The whole thing reminds me of watching some movies on TV and watching the actors say "holy smoke" (which didn't match their mouths moving if you get my meaning).
If you continue to abuse the use of it someone will report you for it...in the forums. It is not "censored" because people are expected to know better.

Serious swear words like ****, ****, ********, *******, ****, etc, are all censored. The fact that damn and hell are not censored indicates that they're fine to use. If they're not allowed because "people should know better" then that same argument would go for **** and ****, etc. That simply doesn't make any sense.

make sure you dont have them "assess" the situation either.
