Look at the bright side....at least the Feds will get their brand new T1 Oh-barf that they can cruise around in next week. It should give them a few hours worth of usefulness while leveling?
Okay I got to vent, sorry for the sarcasm.
I did get a little excited at the most recent Ask Cryptic
"First we are looking at filling in the gaps in the KDF ship line so that there are appropriate class ships at each rank. Secondly we do have a goal to have variants of each ship eventually. For Season 4 you might see a small mixture of both, but no firm confirmation on exactly what yet (other than I can say Iíve seen a BOP variant near completion). As we get closer to Season 4 launch I can start talking about what is going to make the cut and what will come later."

I agree. Hopefully it is iether Mister_dee's design for a sci based scout variant or sonmething new, but the base ship of the line BoP needs no improvements or handicaps.
Unlikely that it's my ship proposal for several reasons:
1. I've yet to see ships proposed by fans, even when it was done specifically for this game, to be considered for anything.
And since his ships were the first, I'd say Azurian's ships should be the first to be implemented.
2. That Ask Cryptic is about a week older than my proposal-post so how could they talk about it?
But the K'vort would be a wonderful addition, as might be a 3rd skin for the T5 BoP.
In that Ask Cryptic Dstahl uses the term "Variant" in a way as though he means different appearances for the same ship by it.
That would be what we refer to as skins.
So it could by either the third B'rel skin which would give us another appearance to play with besides the Koloth, or perhaps a third one for the Hegh'ta/Haj BoP.
I gotta agree here. I finally hit Lt. General yesterday after grind after grind after grind (and giving up for 4 months at one point). I had been a tac in a cruiser for the longest time. But when I hit tier five retro I found no cruisers that suited my play style. Save the Garumba, which is overpriced both on the C-store and in game.
Ultimately I picked the BoP, and I cherish that decision. I respeced into it, fixed up some of my skills to better suit the ship, but over all kept my engineering functionality. I spent about 1.5 mill on the exchange getting good consoles, I buffed her shields, and her hull, and then I called upon one of my Fed Fleeties in a ship we lovingly call the "Big T" into a PvP match to help me test her out. Was a nice long knock out drag out match of BoP vs Star Cruiser lasting probably a good 5-10 minutes before he finally hit me with a good Dual Emitter Beam overload and high yield sending me to the Barge of the Dead... till I respawned anyway.
My point is, that at Lt. General, for a Tac, there are no ships to choose from. There is only Zuul... i mean the BoP.
Beside the fact that the Klingon faction all over is usually ignored by the devs, the tac-class even on fed-side shares that problem.
Also the KDF tac has a lot of good choices, may be even more then the fed-tac.
1. the T5 Raptor IS still a T5 ship. So litaraly NO choices is simply not right since the traditional t5s are as good as the refits, if not better.
2. the bird of prey classes work fine with Tacs.
3. the klingon cruisers work much better with tacs then the fed cruisers.
4. the mentionat nausican ship works for tacs.
5. the kar'fi works with tacs.
that are 7 ships.
so, for comparison, ehst options do fed-tacs have?
1. the t5 escorts (including the mva prometheus, but that one is new anyway)
2. the Defaint-r
3. the excelsior maybe.
that are 4 ships, so in that very one point as an exception I dont see a point in complaining about the KDf content compared to the fed content.
