Betas are nasty and the sensor beta stacks are silly... however I have witnessed what Kilo is talking about. I have seen it from people that have no buffs up at all with the exception of FAW. Kilo and I spent a good amount of time last night trying to replicate the effect with weapons / ships / classes. We didn't run every possible of course, but some people seem to be able to get the bleed up with out anything else going on ??? Could be in my head too.

Well, i think, beta 3, FOMM and sensor scan will kill you real quick with almost full shields. Esp if you have little to no resistances up.

You can even burn through Intrepid Armor fairly fast.

Do doubt, I have felt the nasty beta sensors.... I have been noticing ships not running betas / deltas / or scans being able to pull this off at times though. Who knows though this game is so damn buggy could be anything.

I got melted by a DEM 3/Beta 2/Sensor Scan/Plasma-beam Excelsior without even realizing I was in trouble since my shields were fine.

even more if they are using transphasics

Sounds interesting.. But I'm not sure if that combo will produce the results I'm expecting. But it can't hurt to test some of the theroies listed so far, unless some one else has tested that information and has exact results.

I was in one match and had full 100% shields and saw my hull go to 0% in about 3 hits while my shields still stayed up. I haven't had this happen to me very often only on a few rare occasions. I thought it was some kind of exploit or bug.

Well I tried on my Klingon Raptor with Sensor Scan + Beta 2 + DEM 1.. I kinda saw an increase in bleed but I don't know.. My Sci cruiser pilot is only RA LH 4 I think.. So it'll be a while till I get there.

Directed Enegy Modulation coupled with damage resistance debuffs could be a particularly nasty combination at work here. But I am just gessing.
