I lost an item to the disappearing item bug, then Cryptic failed me with their poor customer service, and refused to reimburse the item, because they had no way to track whether it ever existed. Two weeks after that happened, Cryptic said they had found and fixed the disappearing item bug. A week after that I lost another item. I logged off that night and have not been back since.
So, two questions.
1. Has Cryptic actually found and fixed the disappearing item bug now?
2. Has Cryptic changed their customer service policy to allow reimbursement of items that were lost due to bugs on Cryptic's part?
Thank you for the quick reply. I am not going to play an MMO where my work can disappear at random because of bugs. I will check back in another six months or so and see if they have addressed these issues by then.
So, it has been another 6 months of so, and I have friends asking if STO is worth playing yet, lol!
Have either of the issues in my post from a year ago been addressed yet? I mean the item database bug and the Cryptic Reimbursement policy issue.
Just as a side story, I have been playing RIFT. RIFT had a bug on startup where if you had an item equipped, and that item cast a Dot, and the tick of the Dot killed a boss, noone in your group could loot the boss. I lost 5 badges (used to exchange for gear) from this bug. It took Trion just over two weeks to find and resolve this bug. The day after the bug fix was posted, all 5 of my badges were in the mail. This is a CS story I tell my friends about.
I still have the hope Cryptic will come to adopt a similar policy, but you never know...
