Through my research of the numerous Foundry tutorials (which are awesome), I can't seem to figure out this.
My mission door is the Seedea system. When someone accepts the mission, I want an objective to appear saying 'Go to the Seedea system, Pi Canis Sector Block' but can't figure out how. I've tried setting a reach marker in the system map I have made, but the objective doesn't appear until after you transition to the map.
I've got the location in bold text in the get mission dialogue, and it is listed in the mission information screen, but some people have reviewed saying they can't find the start so I guess they are expecting that objective to be there.
I had this same problem starting out in the foundry. I found that: the first text that appears in the "in progress"mission tab (before you arrive at the designated map) is actually the TITLE of your first map. The next info that appears is then the 1st objective text of your 1st map.
So basically: on your 1st map transition box in the story tab you have the text field at the bottom "MAP MISSION" this is where you should put your directions to the mission door.
It's not ideal really since it means that when you arrive in the map, the heading of your objectives tab will say : "go to sedeea, pi canis" etc etc where really (if you're anything like me) what you want is a title that's phrased to allude to the map's overall objective. The sort of "prelude to a crisis" text.
I've noticed some people get round this by having the 1st map of a mission a rendevous in deep space with a friendly ship who then gives you more info. That way the location makes sense as a map title.
What i've been doing is just phrasig the 1st map title things like: "near the vendor system...." so it seems more of a narrative heading than a set of directions to get to the shops!
