Its not really the same comparison. The borg set is working as intended. We can argue weather it is OP or not all we want, it is working exactly as the Devs intended it to.

Pengs on the other hand Are not working as the Devs intended them to.... This has been stated by the devs. (Why they didn't just shut them off is anyones guess, PvP is just not important to them I guess)

Honestly I may use one myself... After Thursdays correction. lol

The torp will be no better then a quantum after it is fixed... higher dmg / twice the cool down. It is still an interesting torp, seeing as it has a higher base dmg with out specing into it. However at the present it offers you up to 10 Direct to hull explosions on one target with no hard counter. If you catch a victim with no more hull resist buffs, or they are removed via a SNB, you get a nice fee direct to hull explosion. I don't think I really need to go over the mechanics again, we all understand how its broken. Honestly I still don't understand why you would not shelf an item that is that broken until its fixed a few days down the line... unless you feel you need it. (I am giving you a hard time now)

I don't mean to single you out though, your just the one that spoke up I guess. The real offenders are the guys that load 2 or 3 of them front and rear and spam them. I think even you have to admit that its sort of cheap... and that they will all dump those builds Thursday, when some of us might consider using one.

You're absolutely right, it is cheap to load up 6 of them, those builds will disappear this week. And my comparison to the borg set only applies after Thursday. For me, using the peng is more about the fact that with 2 torpedo consoles and the right timing, my peng hits for between 8000 and 10,000 initially. So I can eliminate the need for a HY skill and still get the same damage on the first impact, and it's rate of travel makes it pretty much certain that I'll hit hull as soon as it's exposed. I can still only one-pop someone in my sci ship if I time my tricobalt right. I'll be using it exactly the same way when it's fixed.

And on a more positive note, I'm really looking forward to Tuesday when S4 goes to tribble. Then we'll have a slew of things that need to be fixed, but at least it's going to be fun.

True I am looking forward to playing with the fixed pengers.. I have an idea for a Plasma Peng front end... the non HY use on the peng lets me hold HY patterns for the HY plasma.... its going to suck, but it will be fun. lol

That's exactly what I do with my tricobalt, except with plasma you'll have a higher firing rate. If you're running a sci ship with CPB 3, that could be really dangerous.

No Sir. I dont have to do anything. I dont quit many matches and I prefer complaining in Zone Chat about the skillless faw-nubs and let it come to an end but too much is too much. If there are so many Faw Cruisers, I cant do anything, I will quit. It should just not be fun for those idiots to play their lame bulids.

Seems to me the only one being self righteous here is the op.

I will warp during a match, for instance. This morning I was in an arena group with 3x cruisers on my team. The other side had a cruiser, 2x escorts and another ship I didn't stay long enough to find who they were.

I was unlucky enough that my 3x cruiser buddies, me being in an tac escort retro, were 3x dps cruisers apparently. And even while I'm equipped with cov capx3 shields, and sci and eng bofs fully armed with lvl I and lvl II healing abilities (edit: also running dual tac teams) I couldn't manage to keep alive with the dps focus fre on me just because my shields were slightly lower and my boff healing slightly worse than the dps cruisers I was with.

Normally in a situation like this I APO and evasive out, which while we are on the topic of broken skills, does not work as the tooltip describes. "Immunity to movement impairing debuffs for 15 seconds" The escorts were targeting my engines so i could not bail as per my usual strategy and APO does not remove this debuff. Targeting the engines is a great strategy, I also use it myself. Though, am I to sit there and lose 15/0 with me being dead 15 times? I don't think so. Warp and we can get another super self tanking cruiser in here so I'm not holding my group back.

It's a game, people are gonna warp. It's not a tragedy. Yeah it can be a pain, but it's more like a mosquito bite pain and not a devastating blow. Last night I was in a group and we were short/lost members that were replaced and we came back and won. I think the whole meaning behind your post is to try and bash 7th core. Not really honorable if you ask me, $&!** happens. Que again, or don't. Move on.

I don't like zone chat complaining either. It's tiresome as well. It ultimately is whining, and whining never looks good on you, regardless of how warranted it is.

I think the worst thing broken abilities do is poison the atmosphere in PvP. The whining, the rage-quitting, it all makes things worse, not better. It makes everyone feel bad. And it's not our mistake that Cryptic can't get their powers balanced right. It's our mistake if we let it get to us.

Agreed, it is all a symptom of poorly thought out (or not thought out) mechanics. But it is our fault if we invest so much emotion in the game that we actually get upset that someone is using them.

Tbh I don't even care about rage quitting anymore. I still think its a sad, but I'm tired of discussing it. The truth is, people are going to be upset about losing whether its STO, final fantasy, or modern warfare.
