it works just great against plasma's mines and tricobalts..

The only thing they offered that is worth while is the RMC, it is better than the enhanced plasma distibution manifold only takes up a device slot and works well as a a catch all battery that is not a consumable. I use the rechargable shield battery with the RMC, aux batteries and engine batteries/Deuterium on my cruiser.

Though the plasma turret is nice for moderat spam but the loss of tac console is a bit much of a trade off.

I do find the Plasma Defense Turret can be very useful for Mine Clearing and stopping all heavy Torps from ever reaching you. It is more of a shield than a gun though lol.

I don't know, the RMC has a 5 minute cooldown, affecting wpn, shld, and aux power subsystems for only 10 seconds. Additionally it only repairs the aux subsystem. The Enhanced Plasma Manifold has a 3 minute cooldown, affects shld and aux subsystems, lasts 20 seconds, and repairs both of those subsystems. And IMO, a device slot on an escort is much more valuable than a sic console slot.
