I dont know anyone that gets bored flying an escort no matter what traits you have. While you wont have the punch of a tac captain, youll last longer and your damage potential will be alot better. Escorts also help speed up the pace of combat in any match. Give it a shot

I'm guessing doubling up on consoles dosnt give us a negative effect anymore then

Resists and Evasive Maneuvers/Deuterium Burn

I've got my assault cruiser tweaked to 38% Phaser/Kinetic/Disruptor resists and 35% for everything else. Emergency Power to SIF III and Engineering Team II, along with Reverse Shield Polarity, Tactical Team I and the occassional Borg Proc. I still have plenty of Tactical skills between my captain and officers to enhance DPS enough to stay effective and rate plenty of kills in PvP running six phaser arrays and fore/aft Hargh'pengs. Yes, I do spend a lot of time at 70% Hull integrity, but that just makes Go Down Fighting all the more fun to have.
