I think it's great if we'll get, say, a passive bonus for making an engineer the first officer. Enhanced EPS flow, higher power levels, etc...useful, small, ship-related bonuses would be the ideal first officer bonus, but not an extra "win" button.

Example:
Commander, engineer (***) is appointed first officer in an escort. Bonus: +5 engine power.

Commander, tactical (***) is appointed first officer in a science vessel. Bonus: +5% torpedo damage.

If it will be some special ability I hope its something interesting for all choices of ships. But anyway, I would rather see one cmd. ability of career choice.

That could make some rather interesting choices. Although It could produce some borked outcomes ://

But I hope it doesn't end with giving people access to NPC powers like metaphasic shield...............

Since i completely turned my back on PvP i think it would be a good idea (at least for me ).

Seriously, i think PvE wise it would work very well, but PvP is just... well PvP.
I mean there is so much out of order, it doesn't make a big difference IMHO.

It should definitely not be more than a single activatable power. We have already too many as it is.

It could be a Bridge Officer Power, but I now that people would whine if it was just an Ensign Power, and anything more would quickly become unbalancing the system. (Unless maybe it wouldn't have a reduced cooldown?)

You got to love how everyone is saying it will unbalance the game when the devs haven't even decided what the First Officer powers will be.
