For in game transphasics... here is something that could work to make it viable.
Increase base damage by 25%.
(This would put it at roughly 80% of the quantum damage)
(current is only roughly 63% of quantum damage)
(A 22% increase would place it at roughly 76% of the quantum damage)
Keep the recharge timers as they are currently.
Increase bleed through average to 33%.
(current average is roughly 25%)
By increasing the base damage and bleed through, it could become more viable and
more competative and still fall in line with what it's ideals are...
the rapid reload Transphasic torp now makes the normal torp completely irrelevant. it now does the same damage per torp that the normal Transphasic does, only with a quantum torp fire rate. the Transphasic is the one torp were dps actually matters, the point of them is to fire and forget, and do shied penetrating damage.
dont get me wrong, i want there to be improvements to Transphasic. but this current setup were the rapid fire does the same damage as the normal but fires more often simply cannot stand. that's kind of unprecedented. the non rapid fire Transphasics need a follow up buff.
heretic, please just make this change now. keep the rapid reload the same, but give the normal Transphasics the same DPS score as the rapid reload by increasing the damage per torp.
If you really want to devestate a ship with the transphasic torpedo's your going to have to sacrifice energy weapon dps for them to do any noticable damage. equip the breen ship gear and transphasic/torpedo tact consoles. its worth it on a cruiser, but i dont suggest it for escorts because thier bread and butter are cannons. today i experimented with that combo on my mvam ship and the klingons ate me alive with a side of gahg.
