Questions for Thomas the Cryptic Cat on Priority One 8/5/11
29 July 2011 | 8/5/11 Marks the return of Priority One's Shipyard segment, featuring Thomas the Cryptic Cat. We are very excited to hear his experience and thoughts regarding Starship Design, in and out of the game.
3- Will it soon be possible to hijack enemy vessels (like how Dukat got his Bird-of-Prey, or Kirk got the HMS Bounty) and KEEP THEM?
4- Is there going to be an option in space (such as in orbit of Earth) to click on a Drydock structure and have your ship auto-fly in?
5- What are the current ship class ideas being used for the Advanced Heavy Escort, and what powers might it have?
6- Are there plans to give any Federation ships Battle Cloaks (i.e., making the Defiant's Cloak a Battle Cloak)?
7- Will you be introducing Lethean ships and/or more Orion/Gorn/Nausicaan ships into the KDF fleets?
8- Will the Sovereign-class/Assault Cruiser be getting any form of update soon to bring her up to par with other Admiralty vessels? Perhaps some form of Rapid Fire torpedoes, or innate Torpedo: High Yields?
I think that's a suitable battery of questions for now...
Tholians: We all know the one angular type of Tholian ships we've seen throughout the series (not that many, huh?). I know on your plate is one day to come that you work on Tholians for a related feature series about them. So how do you approach this enigmatic race and create new, unseen ships of the Tholians?
Since networking seems to be a theme for their race, how about the possibility that let's say 3 ships bundle together to form up a bigger (and more mean of course!) ship during combat and split up again if they like? Sort of reverse-multi-vector-assault-mode for them.
With the state of war the federation has been for some time I would like to see more military looking ships or skins added to the game. This could be done by weapons pods such as the 91001 version cruiser or larger cannon mounts. Would also like to see better armor to cover vulnerable systems.
This is just a looks upgrade. Keep the weapon balance as is.
