I have searched the forms and can not find this info. The online manual of course is useless in this so can anyone drop a line here and explaign how to add a friend.

You can right click on them and add friend that way.

/friend <nameoffriendtoadd>

The Name can be a full name like Chataka@DocSavag or it can just be @DocSavag

Alternatively, hit "o" for the social window. That will let you manage alot of stuff, including friends and ignores.

Yes that works too..I'm a commands kind of guy vs an interface guy so you'll always get the commad way from me when I Know both.

is there a "friends chat" mode? i tried messing with the chat options but I haven't really seen a way to do this yet.

There is not. Best you can do is create a channel and invite your friends to it.
