well until someone develops a doctor who mmo... we demand our doctor who thread back so we can talk about actors in star trek appearing in torchwood... and how much we all love the daleks.. and so on.

Wow...seriously? Just now? Why just now, and not earlier? What happened? Was there a policy or rule change? Or just a case of general slack? This needs to be addressed.

I have a feeling someone doesn't like the fact that we enjoy more than just star trek... or this is their way of getting back at us for the whining people do about content... :p

He didnt say it was against the "rules". However, the description of 10 forward is:

"Introduce yourself, share fan art, fan fiction, role play, and make friends here! Romulan Ale is still prohibited."

It says nothing about non-Trek topics. It also doesnt say you cant talk about non Trek topics. But Stormshade just did. So now you know. Whether you agree with that or not is beside the point.

Well if thats what they want... I guess it is thier forums and we cant do anything about it. I am still left utterly baffled by this move however. I would hope that common sense and logic would prevail, but I gave up hoping for that kind of thing long ago.

The good thing is there is a happy place. A 10 Forward that abides by the 10 Forward of old rules. Back when STO hadn't released yet.

And yet it doesn't flat out prohibit non-Star Trek topics in its description. Seems more a preemptive strike against anything that threatens them i.e. a certain Star Wars MMO waiting in the wings.

I was told my signature is to long. Five lines is the maximum allowed. Is that in those rules too? Or is someon just trying to save the world with indescriminant banhamma threats?

Five lines is actually in the rules, yes. (that includes space/lines)
