silly Bludd... this is only the beginning.... we will get out there conquering those inferior aliens... and boom! it'll look like this....

Note: im not sure how we'll build a giant station that looks like a sword then place it orbit ... but well... tis be a minor setback.

Personally, I think we'll only expand as far as the Earth-Moon Lagrange System.

We'll probably develop cities on the moon, along with many orbiting Space Colonies.

Some of them might look like this, others like this. Some might even look like this.

Doesn't mean I don't like Star Trek. I just don't think we'll expand to fill the galaxy IRL.

I'd prefer a jump drive (i.e Battlestar Galactica FTL) myself. You don't have to worry about running into a bad guy or two along the way. plug in coordinates and go

Well get back to it so you can find those damn gravitons! or how to manipulate the higgs field! Cmon give us something.

And that right there is the key. In my op the discovery of a graviton would be the single most important discovery to further the field of particle physics and quantum mechanics.

I do have quite a few theories as to why we can't detect gravitons, and I am working on a device that is sensitive enough to read them. We'll see though, we'll see.

We made it this far into the thread with no mention of Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" monologue? Shame on you all.
