The current torp spreed is more along what I felt it should have been all along. It is also a good example of how fire at will could have been set up originaly also.
Got this on two of my toons and love it. At first I feared it might be overpower but after running the Dalie PVPs and seeing the numbers many time it is not at all over powered. Itihnk STO got something right for change.
It is possible there is some kind of oddity going on with criticals. As each volley of torpedoes against a target is calculated as a single hit (unlike High Yield Torpedo), Torpedo Spread is more likely to inflict significant critical hits .- when it crits at all. That is, in theory, okay. But there is some indication that the critical hit chance is also inflated, e.g. higher than it should be.
Hey, for the purposes of argurment towards balance of powers, I still use HYT and Beam Overload on my escort (Beam escort) and when I go into these fleet actions, I have grabbed first place every time. Once I get the Akira though. Its game on for Torpedo Spread. I think it's an awesome and the spread effect should never be changed. It's great just the way it is.
