We started in the depths of the night, just 33 ships. a battle hardened remnant moving blindly towards an unknown goal.. now a hair off 100 strong and certain of our path, we stand together with pride. http://www.ausmonauts.com/
Are you Australian, New Zealand or play in the +7 to +12 GMT time zones? Are you in a dead fleet that has 1 or 2 members who play very randomly, that you never see?
This is not the case at the Ausmonauts. Every night it is packed to the rafters with fellow trekkers, spreading what is known as Star Fleet Diplomacy. We are close to 100 members now. The 100th sign up may get something special. Not a Mark I common sniper rifle. But something nice and shiny.
The best part - everyone is happy here, all of us have real life commitments which allow from very little opportunity to play to some who are on most nights. Everyone is treated the same even if they are on once a month with advice offered kindly and sincerely with friendly banter served by the bucketload.
In addition to this regular successful fleet events (some planned, some not) mean we are able to give a truly unique Australasian fleet experience. We do not currently officially take part in any other games meaning those 100 members all play sto.
So to me, if you want a fleet between GMT +7 and +12 we are the place for you.
We are THE Australian/NZ fleet to be in lots of experience, laughs, support and good times, if you're new to the game don't let it dissuade you from joining, there's always someone around to help level that character.
I'm actually a little surprised that despite the size of the fleet I know everyone's name and we all fight, cry and laugh together. through the hardest levels and the silliest goofs, both in and out of the game.
I may not be the most regular of STO players due to work commitments, but one thing I can always count on is the group of friends I have made here in the Ausmonauts. They are always friendly and ready to kick back and have a laugh, even while killing Borgies. We let eachother know about Foundry missions that we've enjoyed, so Foundry authors are able to get a bit more recognition for their hard work. At the end of the day, I wouldn't still be in STO if it wasn't for all these great people and the close-knit community that we have formed.
So if friendship, laughs, honesty and a good time sound good to you, give us a try. We may not use fancy gimmicks, but we have fantastic people.
^ Cheers Riven, couldn't have put that better myself.
We have a range of members including some in their early 20's to those with grand kids. We have people with young kids, people with jobs, people who go to uni, people who are on every night and people who are there once a week.
No matter who you are you are treated equally, in fact it is written into our regulations.
Having members that are in multiple fleets seems to be the ultimate in diplomacy. Just finished a really fun joint fleet STF, a little shaky a start but it soon turned to lol's and full on Borg slaying.
Thanks and good work to the Federation Special Operations Fleet! =^_^=
