Everything that is white seems to have this overwhelming glare.

Go to the ship requisitions officer at ESD and when searching through ships, the white background just completely over takes the ships.

Same thing when holding a silver or shiny gun, it just reflects the light so much that you can barely see it. It's the same effect from planets that reflect their sun. (Even though there is no sun).

Can we turn it down a few notches?

There IS an option to reduce Bloom Intensity.

I usually run it at around 40%.

one by default its at 100 that is no reason for me to turn it down at all and it only dose this whit white and when you look at a planet or a sun

That's a good point, I just got sick of my ship glowing even in fairly dark systems.
