How do you get the moving, zooming and panning shots without being in the shot youself though? Like when you followed the high yield quantums to their target and the panning of the fleet members?

It's one of the things that makes STO fairly unique among MMO's. You can utilize simple slash commands in game to record footage, then open it up later and actually direct the camera moves.
