When some of you all make trailers, demos, previews etcetera with video capture, I noice that sometimes you all seem to be able to capture a shot from a perspective other than the players POV.

Is there some kind of trick to this?

Dear Gugeyewalker,

In answer to your question you should use the 'search forum' feature, and or just view THIS thread:

However, if anyone else would like to share their methods or thoughts on video capture feel free.

I prefer the free recorder FRAPS - it seems to only record 30 second clips, but you may do this several times.

There are some tutorials on how to use it on StarbaseUGC if you need help.

Just watch episode 44 of STOked (I think it's 44) that is all about demorecord which is the built-in camera path tool in STO. I set up the camera movements in demorecord and then used FRAPS to capture what I was seeing - check out my trailer below in my signature.
