So which would you use the genereal, the canonly stated ablative armor or the Neutronium Alloy? I know each armor has a specific use depending who your fighting against but here i would like to know which one would you use overall?
.

My $.02 ,

Untill Cryptic releases Diamondillium Armor (the heaviest and strongest armor known to science), I would recommend Neutronium. I run two +18's on my Excelscort and its flexibilty comes in handy for every occasion, unless you know for sure youre runing into a certain energy type. In PvP you never know what your running into, energywise.

If you click each link for each armor time you can see the stats. Neutronium Alloy is good because it resists both energy and kinetic damage, but only at +18. If you chose armor that's more specialized like Ablative, you can get a +35 resistance to common energy weapons. On the flip-side, monotanium will give you +35 resistance to kinetic damage. It all depends on what you plan on fighting against.

If you already know the info in the chart, what are you asking? Just for our subjective opinions?

No it isn't. You can do whatever you want! You can put whatever you want in your eng consoles. Whether that is 3 EPS flow regulators, 3 armors, whatever! Just think how well a Star Cruiser can tank if you put 3 armors on it! As long as you are not cheating, you can do whatever you want. If people get upset at you because they can't kill you, that is there problem, not yours. Personally, I only run one armor on escorts, and 2 on cruisers, but you can do whatever you want!

I don't know that I agree with you on that one. I used to run EPtS 1 and 2, but I felt like I didn't have enough survivability in PVP. It was nice to be able to cycle them, so I constantly had high shield power, and small amount of shield resists, but I was still getting blown up faster than I liked.

Reverse Shield Polarity gives me 2 things.

1) Instant alpha strike shut down. I hover my finger over this ability at all times when I'm out of combat. The second I hear abilities being activated and a ship decloaking, I hit Reverse Shield Polarity. Just like that, I easily survive the alpha strike. Take a little hull damage with bleedthrough, but i'll take a little hull damage over a long space walk anyday.

2) When in prolonged combat, it can basically take your shields from 0 on every facing to 100 on every facing in a matter of seconds. Plus it stays active for something like 6 seconds, so it buys you some breathing time to figure out your next move.

You may be right, EPtS 1 and 2 might be better, it's what I used to use, but I find I'm liking RSP a lot more.
