I had a stack of three in my inventory last night and got three messages flash across my screen saying "You have used Particle Fragment." I'm not sure if that's intended behavior or not, since they dropped at three different times and expired all at once.

Well, that seems to be a default message, as these are designed to decay over time the message should probably made more specific, and less general.

Don't worry about holding on to them they wont stay in your inventory for long, as they degrade over time.

I would imagine they have a "game time" decay. So that they only decay while you are logged in.

Kind of hard to Hang on to them when they keep disappearing from my inventory saying that i've used them....

Six of these dropped from Klingons during the "Patrol the Argelius Sector: Europani System" mission I just did, 5 minutes later they disappeared from my inventory.

They disappear on me so I sell them before they disappear.
