# 1 camera distance

I think camera distance should be adjusted to optimize how you judge turning and distance. as it stands some of my ships so far appear to be very small, cuz the camera is so far back (and that is at the closest setting). the ship seems to cover only 1% of the screen, maybe less.

change the camera positioning so that, no matter what size ship you are in, including shuttles, your ship always covers about 5 to 10% of the screen. that should give the player a consistent ability to judge size vs distance when maneuvering, while being able to get a good roundabout view.

also just think, when you fly a shuttle past a big ship, it will look appropriately huge and epic.

with zoomed all the way in you mean, before or after the ship jumps into the center of the screen?

if you mean before, then i agree.

some of the ships are jumping to early into the center and i'd like to zoom in more without that, this is especially bad on Cruisers like the Galaxy Class.

well with small ships, like shuttles, escorts and sometimes the miranda and constitution class, the camera is so far away from the ship, its hard to see what is going on in the heat of battle; in most cases i hafta squint. it just feels wrong trying to move a flea on a chessboard. something needs to be addressed to eliminate the distance discrepancies between ship classes. it would also eliminate some, but not all, of the reasons for having shuttles and other ships that arent scaled correctly. for large, late game cruisers, i really have no problems in these areas. the way the camera is placed behind them, distance-wise, seems to be more agreeable.
