so its just gonna be a skin with a console? how depressing

in my opinion, the 'correct' escort line up is this

tire 3 tactical escort- defient

tier 4 heavy escort- hermes/gryphon/dervish

tier 5 fleet escort- akira

tier 5 advanced escort- promethious

Did they happen to mention what the new console was gonna be? If it was bumped to a T4.5, I'd be more willing to fly around in it at endgame only because the Akira is my fav escort ship.

I forget what it is called but it is basically a cannon FAW that does a lot of Damage to Fighters and small vessels within 5 KM of you. It is basically a Carrier-killer type weapon - as the Klinks will have new T3 and T4 Carriers added to the game.

Hmm interesting, was hoping more for a torpedo turrent but it'll be worth testing this console out on the test servers...if i ever get internet at home back..dsl has been out for almost a week

I agree. The Defiant is NOT all that amazing. It is a battle runabout that had so many problems that they were hesitant to give it a green light for the current commander of the Gas Station at the end of the Galaxy. The Akira is the real deal.

I feel similiar to the op, I would of liked the Refit version to be tier 5, maybe along side the Steamrunner.

i dont want a new skin for the ship i want an akira the way its supossed to be i dont even mish mash with the olso or the other one akira is beautiful the new skin bairly looks like an akira i think its a thunder child class if anything it looks like the olso

so anyways that was the long awaited akira refit

its not even a refit grrrrrrr i just am angry

and besides all this the akira is cruiser/escort.........id even say its a frigate or a siege destroyer but is definetly not a small ship

this is just frustrating

its a corvette that can stand up to a 80 year old former capital ship/former heavy cruisers/current light cruiser. that's impressive for what it is, but its little more then a yippy little dog to anything modern and reasonably sized. but what ever is fan favorite is most powerful in game, with the exception of the akira. if they really wanted to be accurate, their wouldn't even be high tier escorts, and the galaxy and nebula would be alone at top tier.

the +1 akira's console is a point defense system, when active its a turret with a 360 degree auto targeting scatter volley that does triple damage to spam, but will shoot anything.
