After what I've been seeing on tribble. The only power these days that annoys me.. Well ok.. the only 2 powers that bother me are Scramble Sensors and Antimatter Spread.

Statement: When someone as level-headed as Kil makes a statement such as this, my hope for eventual balance dwindles even further.
Whimsical Metaphor: If STO were an ecosystem, and rain were our hopes of seeing balance, the Sahara would seem a lush paradise by comparison.
Prediction: Friendly fire will be the proverbial straw that finally, at long last, kills PvP in STO.

I'm afraid it's true my Droid brother. The vision I'm seeing, until the testing of the skill revamp, is a new kind of balance, in that the balance we once knew, will be long gone, and a new balance will be introduced. One that will seem unbalanced to us, but will be the way of things when the new generation arrives.
And Friendly Fire comes from the Tricobolt Torpedoes, Mines, and High Yield Plasma Torpedoes. So yes, at first I forsee such friendly fire griefing to become the norm. Eventually the Organized PVPers will band together and disallow such tactics. Probably when they have grown tired of using those tactics themselves at least..

I honestly do not think that will ever be "dead". There will always be enough left to make matches a possibility. The queues will get slower, but never quite dead. And certainly not F2P and some ore to be gained in the queues.
It just might not be a very... "organized" community that remains.

Full aux setting all the time
Tachyon 3... Torp spread 3 and 2 with a little target shield 3 action
1 Peng 2 Quantums... and 2 Chron torps in the back (Just to be more annoying).
Of course 4 Warhead units.... it makes the quantums do more dmg then the peng I would drop it but it flys so fast it hits before the Quantums I launch first... nothing says Hello like a Proced shield and a Quantum TS 3 + a Peng and 1 second later a TS 2. LOL
I am sure I'll role it out a few more times before the 22nd comes along.
Lose the peng and use hyt instead of spread and that's how I was flying my mvae. Buff targetshields3 And tachbeam3 with a Lil sci fleet and sciteam. Pray for those who have no engieteam against that build. It is very effective.
Personally, I would like to see HYT buffed up to the same level as spread. Frankly normal torps have been underpowered, compared to beams or cannons as a choice, since the game launched.
Yes, you could always burst with them, but energy weapons were always better.
Damage is not the issue. CC sci garbage is the issue and Tac Team super tanking escorts are always fun as well.
I don't care about 5 man's. Let them do their thing. I look forward to real open world pvp in this game. That is the experience I signed on for....

I must admit ive used it today like any other escort I see flying around in the Queues. Ive made the transition for using it in spam heavy premades (5x Sci or whatever)

To be honest, I don't really know....
It has the potential for some vicious crits that are as powerful as tricobalts, but at the same time it is a capable counter to spam.
If anything there should probably be an internal cap on the severity of the crits that the skill can deliver, but even that is....dubious at best. Other than that, I don't know, adjust the GCD in relation to HYT in order to stop complaints?

Or just change the HY calculation to use one big number as well....
Give Tricobalts 15 Second Cool Downs with 15 Second globals.... (To compensate for the quantum hy)
Give Spread a 20% base dmg reduction accross the board...
There we go HY becomes the single target execute skill. (Keep your shield up) Or else die, sounds pretty trek to me to be honest.
Spread still is good... but doesn't outshine HY for single target. (if the best a Spread 3 could do was 20% less then it is now the super crits disapear... with the odd really good crit still which is fine)
Trics become usable... there still destructable... still has a stun though and a New rift thing coming anyway.
This game has been lacking burst for too long....I have no issues with good ways to burst... it would just make more sense if it was HY doing it not spread.
