alltho i switch to hy1+2 in arenas, seeing escorts die in 1 volley is fun, seeing them die from 1 ensign tac OP crit is not :/ (being on the receiving end of said skill quite a few times, it rly isn't fun :| )
but yeah, pretty much everyone spreads atleast sometimes and tbh when im facing a lolspam 5sci premade, i go all-out spread and lol at the instadeaths and them raging xD
I love burst. It just doesn't make any sense that an AoE power should be so much more effective at it than the single target power. They are backwards and I rather like Husanaks suggestion for a fix. A cap on critical severity for spread specifically, as Sivar suggested, might be good to add to that as well.
Maybe not using Spread is ultimately self defeating. That would certainly help explain my increased respawn rate. Maybe I should just give in and start using it too...
Got popped with one of those super crits the other day....67k through full shields, running epts 2 and RSF, while moving at full speed...not cool lol. Other than these rare occurances TS doesn't seem to bad.
It has the potential for some vicious crits that are as powerful as tricobalts, but at the same time it is a capable counter to spam.
If anything there should probably be an internal cap on the severity of the crits that the skill can deliver, but even that is....dubious at best. Other than that, I don't know, adjust the GCD in relation to HYT in order to stop complaints?
Hehe. If there ever was a reason to stay with Spread, it is for the spam. And i really think that it's a viable counter against it now. I might keep it as a backup Bridge Officer, we'll see. Need to change alot of stuff on my ship soon when F2P comes out anyway.
I think the crits should be looked at. And also how the mechanics work. Because i have no clue how the mechanics of spread work, which sheild side it hits and when. :/
Anyways I still yield better results with HYT and Tricos ^^ Eventually u want to take someone down with tactics and not with a lucky spread whereas you dont even know how it hits someone lol
Never a torp heavy build, until a team decides perhaps that one 1 Escort and 3 other team mates go full energy setup, and 1 escort a full torp setup
Dunno if thats effiicient though :p
gawd man not all torps.
idunno i was having a blast last week with a tac/recon sci. 4 torps, 2 arrays, couple o high yeilds and a lot of shield stripping sci funneessssss. i love hyt attrition when you get all agile. and it could be said that 2 torps on the rear could be very viable on an escort. specially with spread and a beam overload....thats if you dont stack turrets for procs. sure dont need em for damage.
i can see how people would steer away, or...maybe thats why my theory crafting is sub par. either way i like torps.
have fun find new ways to kill bad guys! (not much else to do)
-edit: i guess im just saying with the new cooldown its something to be looked into and may work for some people. i know when i have a shield in front of me that was just ripped by 2 tachbeam3's and 2 cpb3's that 2 quantum torps and a preloaded hyt with 1 on the way is almost my best friend. wasnt like that before. and because i get so bored between matches and we know "some folks" are stacking the abilites i jus mentioned, 2 copies of hy3 on my defiant was a gasp 3 months ago. but sure enough i ran 2 torps and 2 dhc's. tyh3x2, CRF3, beta1x2. took a minute to time it, and it wasnt the 4 dhc grind i grew up on, but it had a nice lil habbit of landing 30k quantum crits. and that is enough to keep your total timed damage on target at acceptable levels and still fly the way you want to if you like torps. wow thats a ramble im out.
