# 1 Starting a klingon suggestion

One problem I noticed when starting a klingon is that you are woefully behind in gear and officers cause you got only the starter very low lvl gear on yourself and officers and no resources to get more. Another problem is the lack of resources to setup basic bo set-ups.
Compared to a fed toon at commander they can get themselves resonably geared and organized for their intended playstyle. Whereas my kling was short one officer to but in my ship had nothing but holodeck lvl starter gear and no Energy Credits to set-up the 3 starter bo's with decent abilities based on the ship I fly.

The devs need to reward more officers and give starting klingons a energy credit stipend so they can get themselves up to a reasonable stardard in which to work with.

A little something to put KDF toons on par for the time being would be very helpful.

But we already get green MK2 gear in our inventory at startup to outfit our BOffs with, thats better quality kit than my Fed commander has managed to get hold of so far with the current dilithium cost of equipment.

Gear I am fine with since the ship token allows an upgrade to your ship. I do, however, think they need to give another BOff or two...I am still one short and have a whole console unmanned on my ship, 5 levels after the fact.

That is only one skill, but it also is one man short on ground missions. Sure, I can take security with me...but t can't pick their skills.

Well in regards to BO's, by time a FED character gets to the KDF starter level they have already aquired a number of BO's. THE KDF charcters should get the same number, as soon as they get into the barracks.

What would be great would be some funds, merits, or whatever to change your set up a bit before heading out.

I fully agree on the Boff part, Klingons should get as much BOs as a fed at the given level would have. However with the new dilithium system, and with all the missions in one long chain, it will be way harder for feds to build up adequate gear. Therefore I think the current starting gear is OK.

I got to disagree on the gear is ok front saying that tier 2 greens are ok when at commander on my fed I had most my officers in mk 4 or 5 whites or greens just from the mission drops. While granted the mission reward loot is whack right now, once addressed feds will be at a far better position then a starting kling at com.

I think updating the starter officer quest to drop 6 (2 of each type) officers, all with mark 4 gear. Then adding a quest that allows us to choice a mark 4-5 kit for our class. And 10k in starter currency to train our officers as we see fit isn't asking for alot.

Since tribble is atm down I can't verify it, but I'm quite sure currently new KDF chars get sets of white/green MK V gear for their Boffs and their ship...

On qo'nos in the room where you train your boff's there is a console to get mkv gear and ship. When I found the console I was a BG so way past mkv gear. So not sure if it's free or costs!!! I believe they added this stuff in last weeks patch.
