Yeah I am a troll, more time is given to the needs of cosmetic fixes than real issues in the game. There have been more passes to this game because of pips being 2mm off center than issues that matter. But hey immersion is better than a functioning game. If this game was even 90% "complete" and the only issue were little bugs and cosmetics I would say have at it but this game is barely 70% as a complete game with bugs and issues that are pretty much gamebreaking. My point being Logan may be an artist but his work than requires a coder or two to put his changes in game which is 2 less people working on issues that actually affect gameplay.

Fact: According to official sources, the Excelsior itself was designed for saucer seperation but it never made it on screen, that's what the Enterprise B refit was all about around the Saucer section and the impulse drives, as well as the Cautaur class using the excel saucer head.

There are a number of problems you failed to see;

1. The nacelle dome on top back part of the excel on STO is a bit bigger then in trek, if anyone noticed the width top down from the quad impulse engine to the nacelle dome.

2. The Torpedo slots can be seen, but along the line of the small dome at the bottom-middle of the saucer because the torpedo tubes are more or less facing forward on the sides.

3. The Saucer itself needs to be a bit thinner in height and expanded a little bit in the width of the shape. the grey section and the bridge sections need to be increased in height but a little amount to make it look like triple steps.

4. Ingame excel phaser pod on top of the impulse section needs to he raised up a level of it's own.

5. The overall width of the Excelsior needs to be extended a little bit, especially between the engineering & shuttle bay and the rest of the ship on the rear section.

6. the scoop deflector hull needs to be a bit more bulkier then sharp and increase the width and height a small amount.

I didn't know that but also the designer of excelsior refit, John Eaves, also designed the sovereign class to also have saucer separation. But also didn't make it on the screen either.
