I have to agree wholeheartedly with the original poster. I often see the USS Enterprize and USS Defient flying around and that drives me insane. Some of the tribal paintjobs on ship hulls make me wish friendly fire was enabled. Finally, I see people running around in something I can only assume they call a uniform which to me, frankly looks like someone went shopping at Garak's...

And finally, I am repulsed by some biographies and names. I strongly dislike people who are related or named after characters from the show (including minor ones). Even worse are the 'superman' characters with immortality, miraculous healing abilities, or some other God-Trekking fantasy.

I understand everyone may live their universe the way they want, as that is the purpose of the endless selections we have available, but I cannot help but be taken-aback by some of these fallacies to canon.

I personally go for as much Starfleet consistency as I possibly can. That being said, I've found myself bouncing between a couple of different uniform options. All of which I believe would look good on a TV show, or have been on a TV show. Since the release of the cloth options for the origional uniforms, I admit I'm using those more and more now. Leather just doesn't strike me as a Starfleet uniform material.

Nice biographies. I'm somewhat inspired to develop my own set of crew biographies, would be rather fun! Any place on the forums I'd be able to post them?

All my characters conform to the universe. At least I think they do? Heheehe..

I have tried to keep them from being super-beings, and I think I have succeeded. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I personally roll all Sierra5 uniforms with DS9(TNG, eh) colorings.
My character's biography is STILL just a technical placeholder, since I've never been good at those things.

And most definitely what Remianen said +1.

I used to play SWG with a bunch of friends (of both RL and Online variety)...
And every single one of them has seen the "X killed my parents, so I joined Y and with my newfound force powers, Angsty dark ME will win the war singlehanded!" done to death and back, today repulsed by anyone with such profiles.

Basically, it would allow you to set a specific set of uniform styles and colors that would be applied to all players and NPCs, and only visible on your screen. So while Joe Schmoe could look like a truck full of tie dye crashed on the highway to everybody else, to you he would have his uniform strak and by the book.
It seams to me that when the default uniform for your ship's crew setting is enabled, it may be an easier jump from there (coding wise) to extending the program to apply to everything else.
