A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
Tetryon dual beam and single beam front - shield strippers work wonder and do good damage aswell considering it's a beam weapon.
quant + phot 1x front and back - both have good damage ability and the reload varies between shots, but you can fire off a torp every 3-4 seconds and could carry upto 6k dmg on each salvo.
phaser turret - possiblity of disabling a ship shields and besides a turret is pretty much useless in combat anyway.
tetryon single beam.
Borg set.
Subspace field modulator, shield and weapon batteries.
Armour consoles, specifically tuned towards plasma resistances.
Shield emitter amp (want the shield capacity console but can never find the thing).
RCS accelerator - better manouverability, especially important when deal with borg.
borg uni and a random sci console (based on what works best for sci boffs.
AI defense turret, pre-fire chamber, tetryon console.
boffs:
High yields and beam overload for both tacs.
engineers all focused towards shield regen including polarity rev, and both has eject plasma.
sci has hull and shield regen alone.
there is only so much you can do to fight the borg with an assault cruiser or any ship especially against a tac cube torp spread. it is better you run an escort like MVAM, that thing may not have the ability to heal itself too well, but it can destroy borg ships very quickly so the outright damage compensates for the lack of healing and i run a PVE ship killer combonation with a reasonbly good resistance to cubes, i can easily outmatch a sphere or a group of probes without any problem.
Well whatever you run though, always keep you brace for impact ready to cushion the impact of the tac cube torp spread.

DOFF improvements to Brace for Impact and other relevant skills, as well as the borg-exclusive weapons (+1000 armor ignoring damage proc with 7.5% chance is LOVELY) in F2P will be making Tac Cubes more tolerable at least.
