resilient cap 3 for my science and nebula ships. my escort i go with the covariant caps and my cruiser i run whatever happens to be handy. but the resiliant shields are the best bang for the buck. average regen, better then average cap and you only take half the damage you would be taking with any other shield.

so when people say its hard to kill me, it really is the shields

Actually, you only absorb 5% of every shot :p

That would mean a shot of 1000 damage will be reduced to 950 damage.

I think we know the rest

Simple

Borg set with Aegis Deflector (for an extra 5 shield power)

100/50/25/25 power

Shield boxes at 9/9

2x EP2S

Efficient captain and atleast 1 efficient BO (CStore Borg or Saurian)

Possibly a shield regen or shield power console.

Voila, very high natural shield regeneration.

i corrected it for you.

normal shields have absorb all but 10% of the dmg, so resilients absorb all but 5% of the dmg. so you take half the dmg you would be taking with normal shields. (unless i missed something thats changed since the game came out)

mind you i'm refering to hull dmg from shield bleedthrough. which is 10% standard shields and 5% resilient shields.

whew...thanx for clearing that up. I thought you had made a really bad choice in shields if 950 of 1000 was bleeding through...

Of all the advice already given, I'd say that the tactical team skills are the most critical. Borg shields aren't viable in PvP without them. It's important for the obvious reason of buttressing the shield under fire, but also in maximizIng your shield regen. Draining the non-facing shields means that you can regen on those other sides, thus multiplying 4x the standard regen. This is where the Borg shields win.

EPtS is a better shield resist skill than a heal skill, and rotate shield frequencies is among my favorites -- a relatively long uptime, and a reasonable cooldown.

EDIT: KeybInding Distribute Shields to the space bar helps a lot when TT is on cooldown. Again, this goes towards keeping the regen flowing on all shield facings.

Consoles that boost shield capacity and shield regeneration are great, too. I've not tried two Tactical Teams, though. My worst enemy is being alpha'd by several people at once... which is where capacity shields shine.
Lol. Getting multiple alphas is everyone's bad day--except those feedback pulse people. :-)

I used to run the aegis shields but swapped to borg after they reduced their cap. It is more work to keep them up and I run dual epts and rsp. RSP + tac team is also great against borg cubes if HE is down.
