Normally, I'd say suck it up, but you've probably already got a couple pages of that by now.
You want to know why they do it?
They get off on it. And if you call them on this blatant aggrevation... well, they get off on that too.
I don't quite understand it either. I rather prefer a victory on even terms and conditions over completely dominating a helpless enemy. People like that remind me of kids who like to pull wings off insects or torment animals. Groks me as wrong. I'm just not sadistic like that.
Before people say 'It's just a game.'...... exactly! No consequences worth mentioning, so people's ugly behaviour tends to turn up. Including bullying and sadism.
So that's jerk behavior in online games in a nutshell. Sorry, nothing much can be done about it. But don't blame yourself or gaming in general. It's up to the individual. It's THEIR malfunction. Not yours.
Tell you what. Next time someone pulls that stuff in Ker'rat, send a distress signal. Call up your friends. Call up their friends. Call up your fleets. Call up your entire faction in zone chat in the Eta Eridani sector. Call for help! You need backup? Then don't be afraid to ask for it.
That's interesting and probably true for some, but not all. Why do the powerless always sort to name calling? Is it to make them feel better about themselves?
The truth is the zone is a mix between PvP and PvE. Entering the zone is asking for a confrontation. It is, after all, called a War Zone.
Ker'rat is the only pvp zone in the game that reliably functions as such. Why sit in queue for hours when you can go in and force pvp on someone? You can't blame the pvper's for this either as any other option for pvp is utterly broken in game.
Just be glad it's confined to a single system - it could be like EVE where the entire universe is open pvp & open griefing.
It's happened to everyone man - and it does suck if you just want to do the mission. Those are the breaks going in there. I think of it as the "ghetto" of the known universe and treat it as such.

......no one mentions Feds spawn camping the KDF spawn....

The Feds pretty much have to spawn camp in Ker'rat. If you have mercy on the Klinks they will thank you by trying to gank you while your back is turned.
Remember that to some Klingons thanks=ganks.
They're not all like that though. Some will actually decloak about 15 klicks out as a challenge.
Top Klink dirty tricks in Ker'rat...
1) Klink challenges you to a one on one and just before you blow him up his buddy (who has been sitting there all along) decloaks.
2) Klink flies around smack talking until a Fed takes up the challenge and then his two buddies decloak .
3) Klink waits until he see the flashing green circles around your ship and decloaks.
It's cowardly but it's hard to hate them for using the only advantage they have.
Yeah I wouldn't sweat it. Fact is those that pull that gank routine talk big smack cause they have no chance against you 1 on 1. At least that's my personal experience. On occasion I did get the privilege of an actual 1 on 1. After it was over my theory about the 1 on 1 was correct after all!
