Don't discount the effects of speed on perceived "tankiness". You may be unleashing the fury but if it's missing then this isn't a "too tanky" issue. And as always, just because something is hard to kill doesn't make them a cheater.

Speed is Life for a BoP or any escort.

But you cant change BOff's in the middle of combat, so you should be able to rotate the BOff's.

I would say I've seen it more on those hard to kill Defiant-Rs floating around ingame while the cruisers pop and burn. :p

On a BoP (thanks to its U-slots) you can run a double TSS 2/3 & double EPTS 1/2 to keep your shield heals/resists in constant rotation for limited amounts of time before for they go on long cool down and one must cloak to keep from dying. Throw in tactical team and a key bind to run it and you see very good shielding for a few minutes.

Indeed, cheating is cross factional. I wouldn't be surprised that many Defiant players do. I would be even less surprised if the Defiant players are the same players that are doing it in the BOPS as well. The problem is that there is always the L.C.D. in any game that ruin it for the rest of us. And its hard for the coders to keep up with ALL of the cheating ALL of the time.

I never suggested that it was. I could see it if I fire at long range, but I'm "in the fray" 1-3 km. I seriously doubt that I miss THAT much , to where the shields barely go down in a full volley.

Not rotating the BOffs, the abilities EPTS 1, EPTS2, TSS1, TSS2 with TT1 (x2)

so on your first heal/resist statcking you would do EPTS2/TSS2/TT1 to maximize your shields/resists as much as possible for the duration, then do the same with EPTS1 / TSS1 /TT1 when they come off Global Cool Downs.

I don't even know if distance is a factor for missing. But up close, an agile ship isn't likely to be sitting in your arc. Being up close probably even increases the chances that the target is going to get out of your arc more often. That decreases the damage over time and allows the healing over time from TSS or EPtS to really solidify their shields. Doubt it if you want but it isn't that hard to believe.

And then you could be fighting an Engineer which is going to be tough to get through too. There is an especially nasty Engineer BoP speeding around like crazy who is very hard to hit, and then he has loads of additional healing options on top of all of that.

Engineering bop speeding around is never gonna kill you, too. So, whats the point of fight then? Spending quality time, playing game?

Maybe not by itself, but BoPs are rarely alone, lol. They also tend to work quite well together, more so than your average random group of Feds. So it can work.

Been meaning to post on this, but I've been caught up in my own thing. The reality is, I am just an STO enthusiast, and not specifically PvP, PvE or whatever. For me, I try to soak up as much entertainment as I can out of the game which includes pvp. This doesn't mean I don't care, it just means that I am tired of seeing the distinction for a number of reasons. The largest one is this, a lot of the guys I pvp with, who are friends in game, I also roll STF's with, and vice versa. I've seen the 'this group vs that group' debate on games before and its rarely productive so that's why I brought that topic up. There are some really fantastic players out there who play dominantly PVE, that are still great pvp'ers and vice versa.

Now that I've said that, I agree with Jakub entirely that we need to see these bugs fixed. I'm fairly sure the Cryptic folks would like nothing more to fix it too, and they've been spinning a lot of plates. This is in part why I forgive a lot of the glitches and bugs, both in the STF's and In PVP. The downer of it in PVP, is when you have an exploit with double shields or these phantom skills (I haven't seen the live STOKED on this, but is that what you guys are calling Voldermort?). It can be really frustrating and bad for player morale. I know what Jakub wants here, what many of us want. We want this dirty laundry out in the air, so that it can get tossed in the washing machine before F2P goes live. I've played on F2P games before, and I've seen how ugly the exploits can get. From a motives point of view, they've got nothing in it, and its quite easy to keep creating anonymous new accounts to exploit with. The bad guys just get badder in F2P. With that being said, many of us are concerned about this, because we don't want to see that happen in a game we care about, am I right?

All that being said, I do think we will see more PVP missions in the future. Lets hope for the day we can get a Kerrat without the borg. Maybe a capture the flag style pvp (lots of great potential for this one). We need to try and stay as positive as possible, because we are after all trying to have fun here. There's the bad that goes on, we need to make Cryptic plainly aware of it, but we also need to remember why we're here, and not let ourselves spiral down to some dark mental state we don't need to be. I'll see you guys in Kerrat, or Quadra Sigma,
