As long as we keep getting content (ships = content) other ways too. It's sitll a lame way to give christmas presents.

I am sure we're going to be seeing the grab bags all the time from now on. I will not spend another penny on them.

They're a complete rip off, and definitely not the direction I think Cryptic should be going. However, it is the direction I expect they will be going.

So it looks like more grab bags are on their way.

That said, we are committed to doing future random delivery items that include ultra-rare prizes. It's not an "if" but a "how".

It only makes sense Cryptic will make the 2nd Anniversary gift a grab bag. By giving away green/blue/red bags for free it seems less greedy to charge for red bags.

Its also a good system to remove all the stipend Cstore points from the economy. Taking a chance with 4 boxes is very tempting with points you got for free.

Why do so many want the TR-116? It is great for LT level. After LTC3 it is all but useless. Unless they changed it and I didn't know.

In the hands of a Tac who can buff the crap out of it, it can do *devastating* damage. As another poster said on another thread, "say good night to the bad guy." Most minor bosses and some mid-level ones can be one-shotted with it, if you take the time to prepare your shot (as an actual sniper would). I've personally seen buffed damage figures in the neighborhood of 1500 points with it, but I suspect those were flanking shots. Combined with a plasma grenade, it can cut down even Tactical Drones like a hot knife through butter.

The fact that Borg can't adapt to it and that you can fire through hard cover with it are also attractive to some players. I personally don't think that you can kill a Borg mob much *faster* with it than without it, but at least you don't have to worry about remodulating your weapon, and that's helpful. You can concentrate on putting the Borgies down instead of playing Mr. Fixit with your weapon and shields.

It's not great for *every* player or every toon, but in the hands of a knowledgeable and skillful tac, you can certainly romp on enemies with it.
