heres the ultimate tactic: fly near the ship, wait and survive until it shoots its spread/plasmas and watch as it explodes in the secondary explosion ....

This assumes it's a mixed group with a couple of players still leveling. You don't need ALL to be max level to take on a tac cube. I usually tank it pretty well or heal others when I can't hold aggro.

Plus it's more fun to kill a tac then a normal...

I used to take the shortest route back when I was still going for the accolades and tried to hop into anotehr instance to help an undermanned team while getting a higher kill count.

Well I'm just saying, "it's easier that way" and I prefer the more efficient killing route, usually done in 10 minutes, everyone's entitled to play their own game however they like (within the restricted confines of the game).
