Yeah. Everyone needs to shut up, stop offering constructive critiques of game mechanics, and just sit there to let the other side have their way with you. In fact, FvF isn't the answer. The Klinks have had it so bad, so much worse than anyone else, and they deserve some free kills as reparations for their mistreatment.

I don't normally condone idling but if all anyone wants is a target I'm your Huckleberry:p.

Seriously though, there are plenty of baseless complaints but sometimes they are credible. Everyone is just so frustrated to see so little careful consideration of what few new things we get.

So IvanTom this night won't you kill me with your marvelous toy consoles? Nah, you must be kidding!
And by the way, we feds are eagerly awating the new starship, the Enterprise F...no more zombie cruisers or less agile escorts, but a real mighty starship...meanwhile have a great time with easy victories, pew pew, gnam gnam (burp!) and so on...the fu..ing party will end in the near future...

I have the Assimilator console, But i think I'm only going to use it on people who AMS me.
It sucks that i spent $10 on a console thinking it would make my power drain B'rel a viable ship, only to find out that the damn things are FOTM & in use by every BoP (read, 1/2 the klingon fleet). I have no problem with my friends & fleeties using the console. We have had to fight teams full of intrepids for quite awhile now. The whole Peng episode was pretty pathetic also. For that matter, since season 5 has come out, my favorite ship, The Kar-Fi is practically useless in arenas & C&H as everyone is in escorts / BoPs now. I have to fly with my fleeties anymore just to get a heal.
I miss pugging
Anyhow, if the tables had been reversed, & the feds got the consoles the Klingons just got, You would all be telling us to adapt or die. You know you would.

Oh yeah, you're right, I would! And like you, and many thanks for this, I'd admit that something is wrong because there are to my benefit toy consoles too powerful to fight back! But enough complaining, these are hard days for the feds and we must do whatever we can do with what we have against the KDF...awaiting the Enterprise F...

Adapt or die.

Really, I just came back after a LONG time away. (disclaimer: I have NO klink toons) And I've been PvPing, like always. Not noticing anything terribly game breaking. FBP bug is annoying, but I remember when it was worse. Just. Stop. Spamming.

Klinks are not OP (well maybe BOP a bit but who cares?).
Fed is not OP.

Play the game.

Well i have news for you my fellow "fair and square and uber skilled " sto players ,i hope all klings will not only keep on using them -i know i certainly will-but use as many of them as possible ....
You will be console spammed to death in your "mighty" intrepids and zombie cruisers with every chance i ll get.Kerrat ,Arena C&H...Oh realy? You will not again queue for K vs F ? Oh my ..
Payback is a ***** and the time is right.
Your QQs and whining in game or on the forums alone is a reason to keep playing STO for a while longer!
:p

what did u say? I resort in OP consoles to win because i m a noob without skills ? You got that right.
Does it make u feel any better ?
Other than the Pengs, what did you just list that KDF players weren't doing too? btw, I share your disdain for the Intrepid... lol, worst of the T5 sci ships if you ask me, but I could be wrong... don't think so though.

I think the Healer classes in STO PvP are still the most OP, same as it has always been, particularly Engineers in cruisers not named Dreadnought (Fed DN players are generally horrible, not all but most). Good thing there are so few of those kinds of players, although it wouldn't matter much because there are even fewer number of players who know how to PvP around a healer - particularly on the Fed side.

Besides the moronic, of which there are many, the people I pity the most in STO PvP are the folks who think STO PvP is poorly balanced because they can't zoom around blowing everyone else up and generally have a complete lack of understanding regarding shield/hull resists, BO skills, and the importance of every single piece of equipment in every slot on any ship. Ship types and universal consoles matter less in Season 5 PvP than is suggested, and is the crutch that prevents adaption by losers in STO PvP.

In general that group of people can be spotted by the apparent absence of the one OP weapon they use the least.

A brain.

Well, not for everyone the brain is the most OP weapon. :p

But I think you underestimate the value of the consoles. Or at least some.

Remember the good old days when Target Subsystem stacked with itself, and against some people, you would basically be shieldless?

Well, that stacking is no longer possible. But guess what - there is now a new console that drains energy. And it stacks with all the other options to drain energy (and apparently even with itself).

Now, you'll say. "But it can be done only every 2 minutes!"
Well, I say: So what. Survive 2 minutes without, and then mount your offense. This is the old Spike vs DPS thingy. All the DPS in the world doesn't help you if Healing Over Time is just as strong or stronger. But if you can deliver a spike - even if it is every 2 minutes - that the healing cannot immediately compensate in turn, then you got a kill.
And then, it's quite simple. Is the enemy capable of bringing more than one deadly spike against you in 2 minutes (even with all your counters, be it heals, stuns, battle cloak, whatever)? Then you still lose, you're too slow. But if he can't do that, you win.

The consoles are not some minor passive benefit. They are just like Bridge Officer or Captain Powers. They have to be accounted for with the same seriousness and concern as any other power.

Which is why the very idea was bad bad bad bad bad to be begin with. As if balancing the existing BO powers wasn't hard enough on the Devs, now they have added another set of powers to the game that are 100 % cumulative. If they were added as BO powers, I don't think they would be such a big issue - they would complete with other powers for their slot. Some may be better than existing options, which would indicate bad balance - but better may just be "good enough so they can be finally taken instead of never taking", which wouldn't harm gameplay necessarily.

I will never understand why the Devs went with this idea. Was there so much pressure for a mechanical C-Store Power UP (aka +1 ships) that they had to put this in without getting the chance to think it through? Or did the genuinely not see all the problems they would create? The former I can forgive, they're not working for us, they are working for Cryptic/Perfect World, but the latter? I would expect more foresight from professional game designers.
Or maybe they were convinced they could manage it all - but in what time frame? It's probably pointless to speculate.
