# 1 Security Escort

Is it just me, or is this about the weakest ground ability of the three officer types? Over half the time, all this ability does is summon down some escorts that immediately use Drawing Fire or some such, then get one shot by an exploit attack.

Compared to an Engineering's Orbital Strike or the.. Science Viral Matrix I think? Security Escort seems like it should be a much, much lower level ability. Or that Orbital Strike should be Tactical, and Engineering should get something else.

Or is Escort just awesome and I'm just not seeing the proper way to use it?

Escorts can be very handy I finished an elite cure run earlier after we lost a teammate (Internet issues) with myself, another tac, and two sci. The security escorts run draw fire to take the pressure off of you and your team, reduce the damage out put of whatever fires at them, expose that target, give you flanking shot opportunities, and throw more shots out. Pre season 5 I ran STF's with full tac teams running security escorts like mad men
Fun things to do with security escort solo: slot doffs that up your chance to beam down additional escorts, hit all of your tac buffs, beam in security, start engagement, tactical initiative, beam more security, rebuff, berserker the mob
Word of caution, do NOT use security against bosses that have chained attacks! I have had this happen to me while pugging in Rebecca's room before o_0

I have noticed that orbital strike has been buffed, so I would like to see security escort updated. Like more hit points and/or damage output for MACO Strike Team III

Security Escorts do not need a firepower buff. Imagine what would happen to ground pvp if they did get a buff. They do acceptable damage for being pets. I only use them to draw aggro on other players while I take cover if I am low on tact buiffs.

What's going on in ground PvP with orbital strike? Real question, I noticed its been buffed, and I haven't done much PvP recently
If it would throw the balence off, I'd be happy with just a visual change to make them look like MACO's

Security Escort is an awesome ability, they aren't always fodder, they often help me get out of a jam. If two redshirts aren't enough, use Tactical initiative to reset the CD and call down another set, plus you can load up your active ground doffs with Security Officers to give you a chance at beaming down even more Redshirts per use. there have been times where I've been able to call in 8 redshirts at once. Being able to call in that kinda firepower is great for dealing with STF bosses.

What I would like to see though is a chance that the Escorts beam down with more variety in weapons, lately they always beam down with Phaser full auto rifles, I wouldn't mind if one would beam down with an Exploit weapon every so often.

Man, whenever I call them down they get instant exploit attacked in the first 3-5 seconds and die... so I tend to forget even to use them at all...

I like to hit them right before I engage a boss or boss mob.

Choose and click on a target
Fire off SE
While they materialize, chuck grenade of choice at target
buff like crazy
FIRE FIRE FIRE
Hit Tactical Initiative
Repeat cycle

Whatever's left standing after all that is usually in bad shape.

They are also very useful for covering an escape if you get in over your head. They'll cover your retreat pretty effectively, giving you precious seconds to get behind hard cover.

yeah, usually the first thing they do when they beam down is activate draw fire, that's why they always appear exposed. So even if they are killed right away, it gives you a few seconds to find cover.

This was a great ability with Tactical Team, it was increddddddddibly useful with a team of Tac grounds in the STF's -- That is until Tactical Initiative just got nerfed without explanation over the past week or so...
